No Surprise - Minnesota is the Happiest State in America

Minnesota Nice and a happy feeling go hand in hand. Minnesota was just named the Happiest State in America, beating out South Dakota by just 1.3 points! The study was based on three key factors, being health, lifestyle, and economic stability. We didn’t rank highest in ANY of the three categories, but still ranked highest overall. Which proves that just above average is good enough! We scored a 73.3 out of 100, which is pretty dang good!

Overall the Midwest is full of happy campers, of the top 10 'happy states' 6 of them were in the Midwest region. Minnesota, Iowa, South Dakota, North Dakota, Nebraska, and Wisconsin all secured a place in the top 10. So apparently the key to happiness is rooted in hot dish recipes, spending time at the lake, and calling soda, pop. I'm really ok with that.
