Can you guess what time of year it is for some of us fast-food lovers? If the picture isn't telling enough, the word starts with a "MC" and ends with the bone Adam lost after Creation...

Yes, it's time again for the MCRIB! Roll you eyes all you want to, healthy eaters- but me and my rib patty-loving friends will flock once again to McDonald's for this bi-yearly tradition.

According to Wikipedia, The McRib is a barbecue-flavored restructured pork sandwich created by a University of Nebraska Animal Science professor and first introduced to the McDonald's menu in 1981. After poor sales, it was removed from the menu in 1985. It was reintroduced in 1989, staying on the menu until 2005. Every year since, it has been a seasonal promotional item available for limited times only...like right now :)

Sitting at just under 8 ounces, The McRib carries 500 calories but also 12 grams of protein value. Sorry, y'all- but BBQ is my favorite food and as long as the price isn't too expensive this time around (usually $3 a sandwich) it looks like I'll be having more than one of these this holiday season. Of course, I could probably make my own rib sandwiches for cheaper, but don't know if I can quite get the right flavor combination! But I will try it someday...

But now, it's about the return of a modern fast food classic. Sorry Mom. Love, with BBQ sauce on my face.
