Minnesota’s Trick Or Treat Rules Everyone Should Follow
MINNESOTA TRADITION
Trick or Treating. It's a fun family time activity no matter where you go in the US right? Well, here in Minnesota, we pride ourselves on MINNESOTA NICE. Don't forget that Trick or Treat time is a great time to teach your kids how to interact, be thankful and kind to others.
MINNESOTA TRICK OR TREATERS: RULES TO REMEMBER
ALWAYS COME TO THE DOOR WITH YOUR TRICK OR TREAT BAG OPEN AND SHOUT, "TRICK OR TREAT!"
Remember...you don't get a trick or a treat if you don't ask. So ask first.
REMEMBER TO SAY THANK YOU!
Remember: The homes that you're visiting have no idea what kind of candy and treats you might like; so if they give you something you don't like; just smile and say Thank you. You can probably trade candy with friends and family when you get home, and might make everyone happy.
BE NICE TO OTHER KIDS
Remember..don't bud in line..If someone got to the door before you, let them finish. Move aside kindly..maybe even say, "Great costume!" Then take your turn.
EGGING AND TOILET PAPERING PRANKS ARE OUT
I understand that for some reason, people think this is funny. They love to toilet paper their friends homes...egg cars, windows...knock over mailboxes. Sorry gang...this is just plain "mean." Unless you are going to go back and clean up the mess...leave people alone. You're being a jerk. Seriously. Be Minnesota Nice.
