The Minnesota Wild (39-13-6) beat the Nashville Predators (27-22-8) 5-2 last night at the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul. The Wild's 39 wins is one more than they had the entire last season (38-33-11).

Minnesota's 84 points remains the best in the Western Conference, and just one behind the NHL best Washington Capitals (85) who have played one more game than the Wild.
