The regular season gets under way for the Minnesota Wild when they face the Red Wings tonight in Detroit. The Wild open the new year with four straight road games before finally playing at home on October 14th.

Last season the Wild finished with a record of 49-25-8 with 106 points -- good for second in the NHL's Central Division. The Wild went on to lose to the St. Louis Blues (4 games to 1) in the first round of the playoffs.
