
Minnesota Vikings Nab Eight Players in 2016 NFL Draft
With the 2016 NFL Draft held in Chicago now complete, here's a rundown of the eight players selected by the Minnesota Vikings.

Wide Receiver - MississippiWith their first round pick (23rd overall), the Vikings took the first team All-SEC wide receiver from Ole Miss, Laquon Treadwell. The 6'2" 221 pounder was said by some to be the best receiver in this years draft.

Cornerback - ClemsonIn the second round the Vikings used the 54th overall pick to nab Mackenzie Alexander, a 5'10" 190 pound cornerback from Clemson that many experts thought would go in the first round.

Offensive Tackle - Western MichiganMinnesota didn't have a 3rd round pick, so we jump to the 4th where the Vikings used the 121st overall selection to get Willie Beavers, a 6'4" 324 pound offensive tackle from Western Michigan.

Linebacker - MissouriThe Vikes used their 5th round pick (160th overall) to select Missouri Tiger linebacker Kentrell Brothers. At 6'0" 245 pounds, Brothers isn't the biggest guy -- but he had 152 tackles in 2015, and was as a 2nd team All-American and a 1st team SEC defender.

Wide Receiver - German Football LeagueThe 2014 German Football League Rookie of the Year became the first 'direct from Europe' player drafted by an NFL team. The Vikings picked him in the 6th round with the 180th overall pick. Boehringer started playing football after watching Adrian Peterson on a YouTube video.

Tight End - Texas-San AntonioAt 6'4" 210 pounds, the word is David Morgan -- Minnesota's second pick in the 6th round (188th overall) can both block and catch. Can't have too many of those kind of players around.

Linebacker - VanderbiltThe Vikings had two picks in the 7th and final round, and with the first took 6'4" 267 pound linebacker Stephen Weatherly from Vanderbilt with the 227th overall pick.
