
Minnesota Twins Joe Mauer to Retire After 15 Seasons
Joe Mauer is retiring after 15 seasons with the Minnesota Twins, and will make the announcement in a full-page ad in Sunday's Minneapolis Star-Tribune.
The Twins selected Mauer with the first overall pick in the 2001 MLB draft. Before moving to first base in 2013, Mauer caught 921 games behind the plate for Minnesota -- being named an MLB All-Star six times and the American League MVP in 2009.

Joe Mauer ended his career with a double in his final at-bat at Target Field against the Chicago White Sox on September 30th.
