Minnesota Gophers Wrestler Is A 4 Time Conference Champ
We are now settled into the month of March and starting to see more signs of spring not being that far off. With the new month and the transition in seasons approaching, that means the book is being closed on some things.

The Winter Sports season in College Athletics is winding down with the start of some conference tournaments while others are wrapping up.
The Minnesota Golden Gophers Wrestling picked up a massive win over the weekend as the wrestling season comes to an end. Gable Stevenson etched his name in the Big Ten record books by becoming the first heavyweight wrestler to win four straight Big Ten Championships.
The Gophers Graduate Student from Apple Valley defeated last year's National Heavyweight Champion from Penn State, Greg Kerkvliet, who was unbeaten and had a 38-match win streak coming into the tournament finals over the weekend in Evanston Illinois.
It came with no surprise that Stevenson was named the Outstanding Wrestler of the Tournament and All Big Ten First team. He was one of three Gophers to make the championship round in their weight class.
Red Shirt Freshman Max McEnelly suffered his first loss of the season when he fell to Penn States Carter Starocci in overtime in the 184-pound class.
The Gophers also had a runner up in the 141-pound class when Vance VomBaur lost to Nebraska’s Brock Hardy.
Minnesota has eight wrestlers that have already qualified for spots in the NCAA Tournament which will be held in Philadelphia March 20-22. There are other Gophers that could qualify for the NCAA Tournament once the at-large placements are announced tomorrow.
