The Best Burger In Minnesota Is Just 45 Minutes Away!

I hate to say it, but Minnesotans don't have to look far for a burger. Every bar/restaurant seems to have a burger option on the menu, but what about finding the 'BEST' burger in the land of 10,000 options? A recent Minnesota contest has revealed, for the second year in a row, that Minnesotans have voted a small St. Michael bar as having the best burger in all the land. Congrats to the Millside Tavern.

One burger to rule them all?

OK, I'll confess that when it comes to burgers in Minnesot,a I knew that in the small community of Miesville, there is a restaurant called Kings, that has held a special place for fans of ground beef burgers. I've even revealed that secret spot in the past, but it seems that Kings has some compeition, on the complete otherside of the Twin Cities, in the Millside Tavern.

Minnesota Voted - Millside Tavern Is Tops

The Star Tribune holds a contest every year called Minnesota's Best, and you, get to nominate businesses in different categories that you think are some of the best. Once the nomination window closes, the voting begins, and this past Sunday, the winners for 2025 were revealed, and in the 'Burger' category, the back-to-back burger champ was Millside Tavern.

Joining Millside this year were Crooked Pint with the silver, and Arden Hills Steakhouse, Lindy's as the bronze for best burger.

A Family Tradition for 86 Years

The Millside Tavern is open Tuesday-Saturday at 11am and Sunday it opens at Noon, and is closed on Mondays.

You won't find a website for the quaint spot; rather, they are 'old-school' where word of mouth works best for them. Even the sign along I-94 is a plain white and black sign, because if you didn't know about it, it's best to keep the secret safe, knowing you'll have a better chance to grab a table or spot at the bar to enjoy an award-winning burger.
