Summer festival season is kicking off this month in Minnesota. Moondance Jammin Country Fest in Walker is next week already! Among the lineup this year are big names like Kane Brown, Brother's Osborne, and Blackhawk, and some newer faces you'll want to familiarize yourself with. One of them being Matt Stell.

Matt is a singer-songwriter who grew up in Florida and Arkansas. His music career got started when he was in college on the school's basketball team. He was stuck on campus over winter break, and asked his mom to bring him a guitar when she went to a home game. She did, and Matt sat himself in front of a computer and taught himself how to play old country tunes.

He soon after started writing his own songs, and played shows after basketball practice using a fake name to avoid getting in too much trouble. He made his Grand Ole Opry debut back in April, and performed there again on June 12th.

Matt's new EP Everywhere But On is available now and he said we can expect to hear a lot of new music at Moondance Jammin Country Fest next weekend. He will be performing Friday night opening up for Jordan Davis and Kane Brown! Tickets are still available and you can get yours here, or win them by playing Ticket Tag all this week on 98.1 Minnesota's New Country!
