Let Your Kids Unleash Your Inner Archaeologist This Thursday
The Stearns History Museum is kicking off its annual History Outdoors children’s programming this Thursday, July 24, and next Thursday, July 31, with “Dig Like an Archeologist” at 10 am. I wish I were a kid because this sounds like a blast.
Have you ever wondered what an archeologist does? We see pictures and think about Indiana Jones, but what does the actual work of archeology look like?
HANDS-ON SITE DIG SIMULATIONS
In this hands-on program, kids will be detectives of the past, learning about archeology, getting first-hand experience doing a site survey, and then doing a simulated dig for historic treasures.

Activities will be both inside and outside, so be ready for both. The program is for kids 7-13 years old, but all ages are welcome. If your child is under 7, they do ask that an adult stay with them for the program. Otherwise, you can drop them off, go get yourself a cup of coffee, and come back to pick them up at 11:30 am.
