Johnnies/Tommies Football 2017 To Be Played at Target Field

The Minnesota Twins confirmed rumors this morning, that the 2017 football match-up between St. John's and St. Thomas will be played at Target Field in downtown Minneapolis on Saturday, September 23rd.

This will be the first football game ever held at Target Field.

The Johnnies/Tommies match-up accounts for three of the top-five NCAA Division III attended games of all time, and a game at Target Field could see all other D-III attendance marks shattered.

I guess they figured that since the Twins won't likely be using the stadium for September baseball -- they might as well schedule a football game. :)

Ticket Information

Tickets for the game will go on sale to the general public beginning December 13, 2016 on this page, with a special presale opportunity for University of St. Thomas, Saint John's University and Minnesota Twins stakeholders on December 6, 2016.

General seating tickets to the event will range from $15-35 for the 1:00 p.m. game (Gates open at 11:00 am). Approximately 2,000 student section tickets for each university will be held and made available summer of 2017 at a cost of $10 per student.
