Things That Are Now Prohibited At U.S. Bank Stadium In Minnesota

U.S Bank Stadium in Minneapolis is about to get loud and crazy once again with the new NFL season officially underway.

The Minnesota Vikings are ready to battle in the NFC North — arguably the most competitive division in the NFL, where the Lions, Packers and Bears all bring playoff-caliber rosters to the fight.

Purple faithful will once again pack U.S. Bank Stadium to back the home team, and if last year is any guide, they'll show up in force.

Fan support has been remarkable. During the 2025 season, the Vikings drew more than 66,000 fans to essentially every home game, filling the building week after week. That kind of turnout is exactly why game day downtown is worth a visit, even if you don't have tickets to the game.

Of course, the Minnesota Vikings aren't the only thing that draws people to U.S. Bank Stadium every year; the massive venue also hosts major concerts from the biggest names in the music industry, along with other events.

Whatever brings you to the stadium, it's important to know what you can and can't bring through the gates — including the NFL's clear bag policy for Vikings games — and the kinds of behavior that could get you ejected.

A little planning at home saves a lot of hassle at the door, since every guest is searched and screened through metal detection on the way in.

What You Can't Bring Into U.S. Bank Stadium

Security will turn away a long list of items at the gate. Guests are welcome to carry in still-photography cameras with a lens six inches or shorter, and hand-carried jackets or blankets, which will be searched on entry.

Fans may also bring one 32-ounce factory-sealed plastic water bottle, or one 32-ounce empty reusable bottle (no metal or glass), per person.

Beyond that, the list of prohibited items is extensive:

Any bag larger than 12" x 6" x 12"
Hard-sided containers or coolers, briefcases, backpacks, cinch bags, luggage, computer bags, camera bags, and large traditional seat cushions with pockets
Glass, cans, thermoses or metal bottles of any kind
Laser pens or pointers
Video cameras, monopods or tripods (and any camera with a lens over six inches)
Laptop computers
Umbrellas (small umbrellas that fold under the seat are allowed)
Firearms, knives or weapons of any kind
Illegal drugs or substances
Alcoholic beverages
Signs on poles, staffs or selfie sticks; signs larger than 18" x 24", banners or flags
Televisions
Animals (except service animals aiding guests with disabilities)
Air horns, whistles, cowbells or other distracting noisemakers
Projectiles such as Frisbees, beach balls and footballs
Aerosol cans, including mace, pepper spray and hairspray
Fireworks, confetti or glitter
Obscene or indecent clothing
Balloons
Wheeled footwear, skateboards, hoverboards and Segways
Strollers
Outside food and beverage

Exceptions are made for guests with medical requirements or special needs.

The NFL Clear Bag Policy, Explained

The Vikings strongly encourage fans to leave bags at home, but if you need to carry one, it must meet the NFL's clear bag policy. That means:

Clear plastic, vinyl, or PVC bags no larger than 12" x 6" x 12" (official team logo clear bags are sold at club merchandise outlets and nflshop.com)
A one-gallon clear plastic freezer bag, such as a Ziploc
A small clutch no bigger than 4.5" x 6.5", with or without a strap, which may be carried in alongside one of the clear bag options
Medically necessary items, after inspection at a designated gate

Purses larger than a small clutch, coolers, briefcases, backpacks, cinch bags, diaper bags, and any oversized bag are not allowed.

A bag check is available at all events, so anything that doesn't meet the policy will need to go back to your vehicle, be checked in, or be tossed. When in doubt, go clear — or go without.

What Could Get You Ejected

U.S. Bank Stadium enforces a Guest Code of Conduct, and violations can mean ejection without a refund, loss of ticket privileges for future games, and even arrest.

Ejections are documented, and anyone removed may be banned from future events. Unruly behavior that won't be tolerated includes, but isn't limited to:

Being under the influence of drugs or alcohol, or underage drinking
Actions that harm or endanger others
Throwing items of any kind
Foul or abusive language and gestures
Disorderly or inconsiderate conduct
Wearing obscene or indecent clothing
Smoking in non-designated areas
Sitting or standing in the aisles
Entering or attempting to enter the field of play
Failing to follow instructions from stadium security
Bringing in prohibited items
Harassing visiting-team fans

Three of those nine dates are NFC North showdowns — the Packers to open the home slate, the Lions under the primetime lights, and the Bears to close it out.
