Most people don’t really want summer to end. The ability to get outdoors and have fun with some of their favorite hobbies is something that a lot of people would rather not have to let go of yet.

I’m a football fan, and I have said for years that God gave us football to compensate for summer coming to an end. Since moving to Minnesota from North Carolina a year ago, I’ve learned that some people don’t necessarily turn their attention from summer to football in Minnesota, it’s something else they’re looking forward to; Hockey.

Being from the south, hockey is something I want to learn more about because I don’t understand it well. With people here, the passion for hockey is passed down from generation to generation.

If you want to make sure your next generation knows how to play the game and understand what’s happening, the St. Cloud Youth Hockey Association is now signing up players for the 2024-25 season.

The group is run by volunteers who have a passion for teaching hockey so that younger generations can have the same love of the sport they do.

They are holding a fun day with the St. Cloud Norsemen on Saturday September 21st from 12-4 at the St. Cloud MAC.  There will an open skate between 1 & 3 that afternoon, plus a bounce house, mascot appearances, and more all leading up to the home opener for the St. Cloud Norsemen.

If nothing else, this would be a good chance to get more details on the group and see if your child or grandchild has an interest in learning more and becoming a better player.
