Sartell Mayor Ryan Fitzthum has proclaimed Friday, May 29 Sartell-St. Stephen High School Class of 2020 Day.

Like all high school's across the State of Minnesota, Sartell-St. Stephen seniors had their on-campus learning cut short due to the COVID-19 pandemic. They were forced to finish out their last year of high school virtually.

The official proclamation states, "2020 gave way to unprecedented circumstances which have prohibited typical high school graduations, yearned activities and celebrations."

Saturday, May 30 was supposed to be the day of the big senior graduation party. However, that event has been canceled. The school will still be holding a commencement for the seniors, but it won't be the traditional ceremony we're familiar with.
