HOW DO YOU FEEL?

We asked for warm weather...and we definitely are smack dab in the middle of the hot summer we requested from Mother Nature.  That being said, if you didn't have enough reasons to drink water before; remember that dehydration can cause you some serious problems that you might not have realized.

SYMPTOMS OF DEHYDRATION

Dehydration can cause symptoms that you might not have realized before; like dry skin; headaches, muscle cramps and dark pee!

Plus...all of these things don't have to happen right away. You might not feel the symptoms of dehydration for hours or sometimes even days after it happens.

WHAT CAN YOU DO TO PREVENT OR TREAT DEHYDRATION

Everyone is different so it's a good idea to just drink water and stay hydrated all summer; but you need more than just water. Sports drinks, dairy, and salt in your food can give you the electrolytes that you need.

Remember, that it doesn't necessarily have to be super hot outside for a person to get dehydrated. Sometimes the humidity can make you feel more uncomfortable; and it's a real thing.

Just a reminder; make sure your pets have access to water; don't take them for a walk on hot pavement, and PLEASE don't leave them in a hot car. We sometimes think that we can run in the store for just a minute or two, but with temps outside, it's going to heat your car up in a matter of minutes; not safe for people or pets.

Keep your head on straight. Be safe!
