I’ll Be Reeling in the MN Fishing Opener this Weekend

Ladies & gentlemen, start you boat motors -- as the 2018 Minnesota Fishing Opener arrives this weekend. Walleye, Northern, Bass, Crappie, Trout, Perch. Bring 'em all on. I will be heading up north to the cabin. Part fishing, part tradition, part looking' forward to summer.

The 'Governor's Fish Opener' takes place in the Willmar Lakes Area (Spicer, New London, Willmar). 'Pete's Fishing Opener' will be taking place at our family cabin up in St. Louis County (pictured above).

This year the Minnesota DNR has created a nice 'Fish Minnesota' website that is a catch-all for all your Minnesota fishing info and questions.

Also convenient, you can now purchase your Minnesota fishing license online, allowing you to print multiple copies (one for my vest, one for my wallet, one for my tackle box). Get yours here.
