How Early Is Too Early To Put Up Christmas Decorations?

One of my friends posted on Facebook the other day that her son was insisting they put up Christmas decorations.  I'm not sure how I feel about this.

I can understand how a little kid would be eager to put up Christmas decorations as soon as possible and I can see how mom would give in because it's easier than arguing with a toddler.  Really, in the middle of November though?  We haven't even gotten through Thanksgiving yet!

I don't think I should hear Christmas music until Black Friday and I'm not ready to see my Christmas decorations up until at least then either.  That's just me, to each their own.  If you want to put up decorations in July, I say go for it.

What do you think?  How early is too early for putting up Christmas decorations?
