Well, crap.

A disease that was recently confirmed in North and South Dakota may be on its way to Minnesota.

The disease is EHM Equine Herpesvirus Myeloencephalopathy. It's a neurologic disease. The United States Department of Agriculture states that signs, "...appear as a result of damage to blood vessels in the brain and spinal cord."

In other words: BAD.

Humans are not threatened by the disease. Among horses, however, it's highly contagious and can result in death.
