It's not every day a major motion picture is being filmed in Minnesota. Recently, a major Hollywood actor has been spotted around the Twin Cities while also filming, and that actor just stopped at a Minnesota summer institution while taking a break. What an interesting experience for anyone inside.

Leo's Grill & Malt Shop In Stillwater

Leo's Grill & Malt Shop in downtown Stillwater has not only an iconic location, just feet from the St. Croix River and the former Stillwater Lift Bridge, but it's also one of those places where, when you are visiting, you've got to stop and grab a malt during the summer months.

It's hard to think of a time in the last 25 years when there hasn't been a malt shop on the corner of Main Street and Chestnut. In fact, since 2001, there has been a malt shop in that space, starting with Darla's, then it was Lily's, and now it's known as Leo's.

Hollywood Actor Takes A Break From Filming For A Malt

Nicolas Cage was recently spotted inside Leo's enjoying a chocolate malt. The business offered up some photographic proof and let folks know that Cage was treated just like everyone else, as on top of getting his malt, he also received the 'extra' malt that doesn't fit in the glass.

The owner even made an offer to Cage if he wanted another malt 'without the crowd'.

"Mr Cage, Thank you for visiting Downtown Stillwater and our restaurant. I am sure our staff was a little star-struck, but we hope you and your family enjoyed your time together. If you would like another Chocolate Malt (or lunch/ dinner) but don’t want the crowds; I will personally deliver to your location.
Thanks for coming, Cory Buettner"

I'll be interested to know whether Cage accepts the offer, and if he needs dinner suggestions, I recommend Brookside in Marine on St. Croix, Meisters Bar in Scandia, or Scandia Pizza; all three are can't-miss spots in that area.
