The economy! It's a hot button issue for some, depending on which side of the aisle their politics falls on. Customarily around holidays in America, we see an increase in price for certain things.

Gas prices have gone down over the last week or so; I still celebrate that as a win anytime that happens.

On the thought of the economy, I came across an interesting post on “X” this week from Minnesota Farm Bureau which gave a breakdown as to how much we could expect to pay for the food that will likely be grilled out this weekend.

How Much More Will Things Cost This Year?

These figures came from their annual Farm Bureau survey, and it shows that across America, we’ll spend almost $71 for a cookout that feeds ten people.

That price has gone up to over three dollars since 2023.

So, what does that cost per person if you break down the cost that way? The total comes to $7.09 per person, which is up a little more than forty cents since 2023.

The Mid-West Region is on par with the Eastern half of the country when the researchers looked at the costs in one region compared to another.

The cost in the Mid-West comes to almost $69, which is about a dollar or so more than Southern states, but a little more than five dollars more than the Northeast, which was the cheapest region in the country.

The most expensive section of the country for 4th of July cookouts was out West. Farm Bureau says that even though the costs went down from last year, they’re still higher than in the rest of the country.
