Gophers Stop Huskies To Advance To Frozen Four

The St. Cloud State Huskies were defeated 4-0 Sunday night by the Minnesota Golden Gophers in a NCAA tournament game in St. Paul. The Gophers advance to the Frozen Four next weekend, where they will play against North Dakota.

Lakeville native Justin Kloos beat Huskies netminder Ryan Faragher at 11:09 of the first period to give Minnesota a 1-0 lead that they would never relinquish.

Minnesota got second period goals from Seth Ambroz and another from Kloos for a 3-0 lead through three, then capped the scoring with a Kyle Rau goal on a power play midway through the third.

The Huskies were outshot 35-24 for the contest. SCSU finishes the season 22-11-5.
