What can you do with $25 these days? You can pick up a few things at the grocery store and add a little gas to your tank but $25 doesn’t go as far as it used to for sure. But there’s one organization in Central Minnesota that will make your twenty-five bucks go farther than you can. And that is Feeding Area Children Together.

What Is FACT And What Do They Do?

This organization has the goal of providing students in their partner schools with food for the weekends and breaks in the school year. Their website says that one in five children from Central Minnesota aren’t sure when they’re not in school if there will be food at home.

Feeding Area Children Together offers what they call FACT PACKS to students in kindergarten through the 8th grade in the following school districts:

  • St. Cloud ISD-742
  • Sauk Rapids Rice ISD-42
  • Sartell/St. Stephen ISD 748

The FACT PACKS contain full meals and snacks for the child to have available over the weekend or during any break from school. These packs do not contain any pork, but will have proteins, vegetables and fruits in them for the students and their families.

The boxes that are distributed for the breaks are filled with fresh food and items that can be stored in the pantry that should help families have the food they need while school is out.

Here's Your Chance To Get Involved

Remember when I mentioned $25 earlier, a donation of twenty-five bucks can feed five children for the weekend.

So, as you are starting to think about your end of year donations, or any money you might want to donate around the holidays, Feeding Area Children Together is deserving of your consideration. Having food should be something everyone has access to, here’s a chance for you to help make that happen for some kids and their families who might not have it otherwise.
