Minnesota Vikings defensive end Everson Griffen has been named the NFC Defensive Player of the Week after delivering a career-high-tying three sacks Sunday in Charlotte, plus nine hurries of Carolina quarterback Cam Newton. This all despite his being sick during the game.

Three weeks into the new season, the Vikings have three 'Players of the Week.' In week one linebacker Eric Kendricks was named NFC Defensive Player of the Week. In week two receiver Stefon Diggs was named NFC Offensive Player of the Week.

The Vikings host the New York Giants this coming Monday night at U.S. Bank Stadium.
