Why Don’t Drivers in the St. Cloud Area Know How To Do This?
This is always a topic of conversation while driving around St. Cloud. If you have someone in the vehicle with you, you will probably vent; if you don't, you will probably still vent, out loud and to yourself.
YOU ALL HAVE TO BE ABLE TO RELATE TO THIS SITUATION
Have you come up to a four-way stop only to have someone at all four stops and no one goes? Everyone sits there waiting for someone else to go, then you get two people trying to go, and it just gets worse from there. You either have that situation or the other problem with someone who comes up to the stop sign, and other people are already there on the other cross streets, and they just go. Not at all waiting for their turn. It's frustrating.
4 WAY STOP RULES AND HOW TO NAVIGATE
You will also have people at a stoplight who don't go when the light turns green. I get that there is an issue with people running red lights in this town, but sometimes there is no one else on the cross street, and people still don't go. Why? Distracted driving. That's why.
NO ONE SEEMS TO OBEY THE DISTRACTED DRIVING LAW
For several years, there has been a hands-free law in Minnesota. That doesn't seem to deter many, many people. So blatant, in fact, that some people don't even try to hide it. They have their phones up to their ears, they are texting while resting their hands on the steering wheel, or just looking down at their phone, doing who knows what. Either way, not paying attention to what is going on around them on the road and/or at an intersection.
SO WHY NOT ANY REAL ENFORCEMENT
Why isn't there more of a crackdown on these situations? I get that maybe the local police are around when it happens, but that would be hard to imagine, given that it happens so often.
Just drive defensively - you really have to.
