Did the Twins Just Give Up 40 Runs in Three Games?
The Minnesota Twins (26-23) have been riding high through the first quarter of the 2017 season, entering Memorial Day in first place -- poised to host the team holding the best record in baseball. The result was ugly.
The Houston Astros (38-16) clobbered the Twins Monday, Tuesday, and today -- sweeping the three game series, and scoring forty runs in the process. (That's not a typo, 40 runs in three games.)
- Monday: HOU 16, MIN 8
- Tuesday: HOU 7, MIN 2
- Wednesday: HOU 17, MIN 6
Somewhat amusing, the Twins are just a half-game out of first place in the American League Central Division behind the Cleveland Indians.
The Twins head out on a West Coast road trip, starting a four-game series against the Angels tomorrow night in Los Angeles.
Go Twins!
