The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for rain changing to snow overnight tonight for Aitkin, Cass, Crow Wing, Itasca, and St. Louis counties, with snowfall rates of 1 to 3 inches per hour possible. (What? I'm laughing WITH you, not AT you.)

From the National Weather Service tonight:  A Winter Weather Advisory is effect for portions of north-central and northeast Minnesota late tonight until early Friday morning. A rapidly developing storm system will move quickly from the Central Plains into northwest Ontario tonight and Friday. As the system passes through the Northland, rain and thunderstorms are expected over northwest Wisconsin and rain changing to snow is likely over portions of north-central and northeast Minnesota. A swath of 1 to 3 inches of accumulation is likely from the Brainerd Lakes northeastward into northern St. Louis County. Snowfall may be heavy at times with visibilities of one-half to one-quarter mile. Low temperatures in the 30s across northeast Minnesota. In northwest Wisconsin lows range from the mid 30s to low 40s.
