Country Superstars Plan Benefit Concert for Hurricane Victims
My wife and I have now lived in Minnesota for over a year, this is home to us. But our hearts have been breaking from 1,200 miles away with all the devastation that has taken place in Western North Carolina where we are from.
Our families went without power for a week, but luckily there were no injuries or major structural damage to their homes. Others we know weren’t so lucky.
I’ve been encouraging people to donate to The American Red Cross, or to Samaritans Purse which is based in Boone N.C.
Boone happens to be where country music superstars Eric Church and Luke Combs went to college. Eric is from nearby Granite Falls, about 50 minutes down the mountain from Boone, and Luke from the Fairview Community in Asheville.
Both areas were affected by Hurricane Helene Damage, and so was Boone. If you were to visit Boone, you wouldn’t have to go far before you met someone who had seen one or both of those fellas play there before they were famous.
Both guys have given back to the area before, and it was no surprise to see yesterday that they were going to be co-headlining a concert in Charlotte NC later this month.
They’ll be sharing the headline duties with fellow North Carolina Native and music legend, James Taylor. Billy Strings has also been named to appear on this show as well, and other artists are promised to be there too.
Every penny of the concert proceeds will go back to the people of the state who need it most.
Tickets go on sale for this show on Thursday and the concert will be held on Saturday October 26th. If you’re up for a road trip, flights from Minneapolis go right into Charlotte, maybe this is how you support their cause.
