On Sunday night (Feb. 5), millions of football fans were glued to their television screens as they watched the New England Patriots defeat the Atlanta Falcons at Super Bowl LI. Country stars were some of the viewers, many of whom praised Luke Bryan for his performance of the National Anthem at the start of the big game.

"That @LukeBryanOnline fella nailed the anthem!" Brett Eldredge tweeted. "Well done my friend!"

The Little Big Town bandmates also raved about their friend: "So proud, @LukeBryanOnline you killed it!" they shared.

Other country artists, including Cassadee Pope, Cole Swindell, Luke Combs, David Nail and Granger Smith, shared their excitement and disbelief at the game's outcome, halftime performance and more. Click through the gallery above for some spirited Super Bowl tweets.

Several artists were lucky enough to watch the Super Bowl in person in 2017: Kenny Chesney attended the game with his father and was shown frequently on camera throughout the evening. In addition to Bryan's performance, Lady Antebellum also took the spotlight pre-game for a special set. Darius Rucker attended the festivities with his son Jack, while Dustin Lynch and Thomas Rhett were also on hand at NRG Stadium in Houston, Texas.

The New England Patriots won Super Bowl LI 34-28 in overtime, after trailing behind the Atlanta Falcons for most of the four quarters. It would mark the first time any Super Bowl game went into overtime.
