Chevy Chase is dealing with an addiction, likely to pain killers, and has voluntarily checked into a treatment facility here in Minnesota.

Chevy Chase is best-known for his comedic acting roles in National Lampoon's "Vacation" films, has checked into Hazelden, the Minnesota-based treatment center, with a facility in Plymouth and Center City.

In the 1980's Chevy Chase was dealing with an addiction to pain killers and checked himself into the Betty Ford Clinic. He hasn't come out with the exact reason for checking in to treatment at Hazelden, but the 72-year old actor said he's going in for a "tune-up".

Chase is expected to start shooting 2 upcoming films, "The Christmas Apprentice" and "Dog Years". It's likely the reason for treatment is to try to overcome his addiction prior to filming again.

A couple years ago, actor Robin Williams checked into Hazelden in Minnesota to seek treatment and become sober, just over a month before his death.
