A young man from central Minnesota had a dream to create a place where people could come together through sports, friendship, and community. That dream has finally been realized.

Sunday, May 17th, 2026, the Grand Opening of Charlie's Corner Community Sports Court will take place.

WHAT IS CHARLIE'S CORNER?

Charlie's Corner is a brand new community sport court, where kids and families can come together to shoot pucks, play pickleball, hockey, lacrosse, or simply just spend time together.

MEET CHARLIE BOIKE

Charlie Boike, a talented young hockey player, dreamed of a target shooting area for hockey players. Charlie passed away in a tragic car accident in December of 2022 when he was just 17.

His parents, Erika and Jeff Boike, were sitting together talking about ways to honor Charlie and ways to give back to a community that supported them in their darkest hours.

They remembered how much time Charlie spent at the Omni Training Facility, and thought maybe that would be the perfect location for a facility that could bring everyone together. Now, because of the hard work of many community members, the Omni Training Facility, and local businesses, the incredible sports court is here.

The court is also accessible to anyone with disabilities, allowing them to take advantage of the space.
