If you're looking for ways to honor the fallen, central Minnesota will be hosting a variety of events and services over Memorial Weekend. Here are a few of the events going on around the area. Let us know if there are any events we should add to our list!

Flag sorting for the Fort Snelling National Cemetery 

Volunteers are needed to help bundle and sort new flags for the Fort Snelling National Cemetery. Flags For Fort Snelling honors veterans and fallen soldiers by placing flags at the national cemetery. Volunteers are needed on May 24 between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. Volunteers can sign up for three hour time blocks; 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. and 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.

National Moment of Remembrance 

Americans are encouraged to take one minute of silence at 3 p.m. local time to remember those who have died serving the country.

Memorial Day Bash

Friends Bar & Restaurant in Waite Park will be holding their annual Memorial Day Bash on Sunday, May 26 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. They'll have live music from Pandemic & Switch, bean bags, food specials and more. There's no cover charge. They'll fire up their outdoor grill from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Sartell American Legion Post 277

The Sartell American Legion Post 277 will hold their annual Memorial Day Service on Monday, May 27 at 9 a.m. at Veterans Park on Riverside Avenue. All are welcomed to attend.

Community Memorial Day Mass

You're invited to attend a community mass with the Church of the Holy Spirit in St. Cloud. Their annual mass will be at Assumption Cemetery at 9 a.m. on Monday, May 27. If it's raining it will be moved to Holy Spirit.

Memorial Day Ceremony

The St. Cloud VA Medical Center is holding their annual Memorial Day Ceremony on Monday, May 27. The parade kicks off at 10:30 a.m. in the building 92 parking lot, with a ceremony to follow. If it rains, the program will take place in Building 8's auditorium.

Memorial Service at the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery 

The Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery will be holding their memorial service on Sunday, May 26 at 1:30 p.m. There will be music by the Richfield Symphonic Band and a formal ceremony at 2 p.m. to follow.
