Brad Paisley has some serious concerns about Carrie Underwood's ability to operate a motor vehicle. The "Remind Me" hitmakers got in a truck together for the taping of Brad Paisley Thinks He's Special, but the skit went off the rails quickly.

Actually, to hear Paisley tell it, Underwood never intended to stick to the script.

"It's a side of Carrie that I've never seen," he shares with Taste of Country Nights ahead of Tuesday night's (Dec. 3) ABC broadcast. She's one of several stars (from country and beyond) who agreed to appear, with the only rule being no rules when it comes to teasing, harassing or torturing the show's namesake.

“I thought I was gonna take her out of her comfort zone and we were gonna go in a four-wheel-drive truck, go mudding and do sort of a redneck, turbo, question-answer a la Carpool Karaoke or Comedians in Cars or something," Paisley says, referring to James Corden and Jerry Seinfeld's respective shows (Seinfeld is the star of Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee on Netflix).

“Instead she scares the living daylights out of me and turns it completely on its ear where she does the driving. She should literally be grounded. There is no way that she should have a driver’s license," he jokes.

Clips of the sequence show Underwood in a pink T-shirt sliding around a mud track like she's NASCAR driver Jeff Gordon celebrating on the infield after winning the Daytona 500. Her big smile and attitude indicate she doesn't think there's anything to be afraid of. Clearly, Paisley would beg to differ.

Of course the two are longtime friends and, for more than a decade, CMA Awards co-hosts.

Paisley says that Brad Paisley Thinks He's Special was conceived a year-and-a-half ago, and the list of stars who'll appear (Peyton Manning, Tim McGraw, the Jonas Brothers, Hootie and the Blowfish plus many more) is the same list of stars he scribbled down during the early stages of planning. The pre-recorded show is a mix of live onstage sequences and recorded bits. If it goes well, the singer says he's hopeful he'll get a chance to do it again.

Next time, however, he may drive.
