Blue Cross Settlement Payments Set To Begin In May 2026

If you were part of the Blue Cross Blue Shield settlement case, the good news is that payments should start being distributed in a matter of weeks. The only problem is that people are still wondering exactly how much they will receive from the class action settlement. Here's what we know.

Settlement Final: Payments Start In May

According to the Blue Cross Blue Shield Settlement website, "The Court resolved all appeals, and the Settlement is final. We are now reviewing claims and sending claim determination notice emails and postcards to people who filed claims. We are sending claim determination notices on a rolling basis."

The website goes on to state that for those who filed a claim and are expecting payment, "the initial distribution of payments to Damages Class Members with valid claims will begin in May 2026." A recent Reddit thread covering the settlement shows that a judge has set payments to start being distributed on May 11th, just a few weeks away.

What Do You Need To Know?

To receive a payment, you must have filed a claim by November 5, 2021. If you did that, you should be watching your mailbox for more information or your email for payment information. An update on the process went out to people in February for those involved in the class action settlement for a final check of the amount you paid towards Blue Cross Blue Shield.

Payment will be an electronic card, unless you chose another form of payment when you submitted your claim information in 2021.
