Betting on Football in Minnesota Could Bring Big Risks!
IT’S FOOTBALL SEASON! For those of who love the game, it’s finally here. High School Football has a week under its belt. The same goes for college football as well. The NFL season kicks off this week, on Thursday night.
People all around the area are finalizing their fantasy football rosters, so they’ll be ready for the first weekend of the NFL season.
And then others are working on placing their bets on the games. An estimated 75 million people placed bets on NFL games last season. “GeoComply” reports that 4,200 bets per minute were placed in America last season. 4,200 per minute, that’s a lot of betting.
In Minnesota, there is not legalized sports betting, and the Minnesota Alliance on Problem Gambling warns that residents should be cautious about placing bets because there are sites and apps that look legit but are not.
The group specifically says that these sites present a major risk:
BetUS
Everygame
Bovada
BetOnline
Xbet
BUSR
MyBookie
The Minnesota Alliance on Problem Gambling warns the sites that are listed above, and other offshore sites could not be secure which could put your personal information in jeopardy.
The group warns that it’s difficult for a player to know they’re in trouble because there’s little to no transparency with the sites and there’s no way for them to be protected.
These sites want to develop continual playing to keep access to the players information.
Minnesota residents who choose to gamble need to do so in a responsible, low risk manner. Put a plan before such as how much you want to wager and how long you want to stay in a casino if that’s where you go to gamble.
Over 250,000 adults in Minnesota have admitted to having a gambling addiction. If you or someone you know has a problem with gambling, contact the Minnesota Alliance on Problem Gambling at 1-800-333-4673.
