FOLEY -- Heavy rain from Monday's storms have prompted Benton County to declare a state of emergency. The move is in hopes of getting state funding to help repair several township roads that washed out due to the heavy rains.

County Administrator Monty Headley says they'll now start assessing the cost of the damages before sending the information off to the state of Minnesota.

Headley says most of the damage appears to be roads which are washed out, although other damage may be discovered as they continue their assessment.

Headley says the threshold to meet for state help is approximately $68,000.
