ST. CLOUD - Soon you'll be able to pick up a six-pack of your favorite Beaver Island Brewing Company beer on your way to the lake. Wednesday is their first day of canning.

They're starting with one of their signature brands the Ripple German Ale, and will also be canning the 39 Red IPA and the Sweet Miss varieties.

Co-owner Nick Barth says they plan to produce over 16,000 cans a day.

The process takes three people and includes: dating, adding co2, lids, a seam, the six-pack ring, and putting it in a carton.

From the day it is canned to when it hits the store shelf is about 14 days.

The three varieties of Beaver Island Beer will be sold in six-packs of 12 ounce cans.

Barth says for the initial launch, Bernick's - who will be distributing the beer - will be picking-up their first shipment next Friday, and it will be available for you to buy on store shelves on Tuesday, June 6th.

We are starting with liquor stores in towns where they are already available in bars: Duluth, Bemidji, Brainerd and of course St. Cloud.

Barth says they wanted to go where customers were already familiar with their beer.

If you can't wait until June 6th, Beaver Island will be giving a sneak peak of their canned beers at the St. Cloud Rox games next Friday through Sunday.
