On this date in 2000, Garth Brooks played baseball with the New York Mets on their last spring training day.

The country superstar, known for his hits "Friends In Low Places," "Thunder Rolls," and "The Dance," walked on four pitches. This was his second attempt at playing in the big leagues.

The Mets signed Brooks and in return the team donated to his Touch 'Em All Foundation for kids.

Brooks ended training hitless in 17 at-bats. It's safe to say that he found his talent in country music--not so much baseball.

The Mets ended up beating the Florida Marlins, 3-2.
