Throw Back Thursday: Kenny Chesney Born On This Date

Happy Throw Back Thursday! On this date in 1968 one of country music's biggest stars was born. Happy 47th birthday Kenny Chesney!

He was born and raised in Knoxville, Tennessee. Chesney has one sister named Jennifer.

Before becoming a superstar, Chesney studied advertising at East Tennessee State University, Johnson City. He was a member of the Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity and also a member of the ETSU Bluegrass Program.

He decided to ditch the advertising gig to pursue a career in music--and we're glad he did. In 1993 he got his big start.

Since then, he's released 16 albums and has been named Entertainer of the Year numerous times.

Chesney is set to perform at Target Field in Minneapolis on July 18 and 19 with Jason Aldean as part of his 2015 Big Revival tour.
