The number crunchers at the Washington Post say that Minnesota's professional sports teams have performed worse as a group than any other American city's teams. Any guess which city came out on top?

Growing up in Minnesota has taught me three things about being a sports fan here: 1) Prepare to have your hopes built up. 2) Prepare to have those hopes crushed. 3) Learn to laugh (because you just can't make some of this stuff up). Who me? A pessimist? Nope, realist when it comes to Minnesota sports. (And I'm still a fan of the Vikings, Wild, Twins, and T-Wolves). Now that's Minnesota nice?

Here's how the 12 cities with all four of the major sports (MLB, NFL, NHL, NBA) are ranked with their combined winning percentage over the past ten years:

  1. Boston (.611)
  2. Dallas (.577)
  3. Denver (.541)
  4. Chicago (.539)
  5. New York (.512)
  6. Philadelphia (.511)
  7. Phoenix (.509)
  8. Detroit (.501)
  9. Bay Area (.494)
  10. Miami (.494)
  11. D.C. (.468)
  12. Twin Cities (.462)
