ST. PAUL (WJON News) -- A Grammy Award-winning artist is coming to Minnesota to celebrate the 30th Anniversary of their debut album. Xcel Energy Center has announced that Weezer will be coming this Fall.

The group is kicking off their "Voyage To The Blue Planet" Tour at the Xcel Center on September 4th. The tour will feature Weezer playing their debut self-titled album, also known as the "Blue Album" in its entirety along with fan favorites and rare tracks.  Weezer will be joined on tour by The Flaming Lips and Dinosaur Jr.

The group is also having a special event on Friday at the Lodge Room in Los Angeles with Keanu Reeves' band Dogstar, which is duplicating their 1992 show at Raji's where they opened for Dogstar. The band's name of "Weezer" came up in a conversation with the show's booker and they decided to take it on as their name.

The "Blue Album" features Weezer's popular songs "Buddy Holly" and "Say It Ain't So" among others. Fans can sign up for Weezer's mailing list at weezer.com to get access to a presale code and purchase tickets on Wednesday, March 13th.  Tickets for the general public go on sale on Friday at 10:00 a.m. on the band's website.
