As technology has developed, we as a society have used this as an opportunity to create new ways to communicate with one another. Younger generations have always seemed to find ways to keep adults on their toes of knowing what they were saying.

That has never been truer than it is now with text abbreviations. Some of these are so hard to understand, and you’ll end up racking your brain for hours trying to figure what they’re saying.

There’s a website called unscramblerer.com which serves as a source to unscramble words for some online games. These folks spent time doing a deep dive into what these abbreviations mean.

They even broke it down to what the most searched terms on Google were in the state of Minnesota. Here’s the top ten terms Minnesotan’s asked for help with. Did you know these before now?

OTP= One True Pairing

TBH= To Be Honest

ATP= At This Point

WYD= What (Are) You Doing?

NFS= New Friends

GTS= Go To Sleep (I’m guessing this is one parents are currently or will be using a lot)

WTW= What’s Up?

HMU= Hit Me Up

ION- In Other Media

TS= Talk Soon

These folks also searched with what the most searched terms in the county were, and the top one is no real surprise, we’ve heard it a lot lately.

FAFO= Due to the language of this one, you’ll have to look this one up on your own. I will tell you that it has been searched over 254,000 times thus far this year alone.

Minnesota’s most searched term, OTP or One True Pairing came in 4th overall in the U.S. There were several that I had not seen before, not that I’m verse on many of these abbreviations to begin with. Terms like;

WYF= Where Are You From?

WYLL= What You Look Like? (This one had over 59,000 searches)

MK= Mmm, Okay

PFP= Picture For Proof (are we living among a bunch of kidnappers or something- Over 27,000 searches for this one)

NGL= Not Gonna Lie

WYS= Whatever You Say

And

TTH= Trying Too Hard (Only 3,000 searches, so I guess you could say we aren’t trying all that hard)

If you’re like me and you don’t use these terms, that often hopefully this helped in some way. Otherwise, at least you learned of a website that could help you play Wordle better
