Will There Be A Kentucky Derby This Year? The Answer Is…

WHERE HAVE ALL THE HORSES GONE?

May has come and gone. The horses...the hats...the min juleps...no mention of any of it. I wondered if there would be run for the roses this year? May 2nd came and went...and there were no horses running..no fanfare...no fun.

We finally have an answer.

THE KENTUCKY DERBY

The Kentucky Derby will go on! The race is going to be run on Saturday, September 5th, and there will be fans in the stands...At least for now..you never know what might happen in the world between now and then. However, there will also be restrictions regarding the number of people that will be allowed in the doors, and all of their guests will be encouraged to wear masks and wash their hands frequently.

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE PART OF THE KENTUCKY DERBY?

It's hard to believe...but even after living in Kentucky for 20 years, I never once was able to attend the Kentucky Derby. I think my ex husband performed on the inner circle...but I'm not sure anymore. I believe when it rains, it is a huge muddy mess on the inside of the track, and that's where the live music, crazy people, and people who can't afford to sit in the stands go. It's basically where the fun happens. If you are a stick in the mud and have the money, you can join the fancy hats in the stands and sip your mint juleps.
