I enjoy seeing people out on the ice having a great time, and by all accounts, it seems like this winter has been a pretty good year for those who like to ice fish. One group of anglers, that were recently on Mille Lacs, made a video talking about what a waste of time it was to drive out there and fish. All the while the person telling you this is holding a massive full 5-gallon bucket of what appears to be perch.

This might be the best video of the year involving ice fishing.

The guy in the video is kidding of course as the wonders aloud why people would drive out to Mille Lacs to fish, and it rings true as you'll see people comment all the time about not wanting to fish out that way due to the limits, and while it can be frustrating as an angler, there are plenty of other fish you can fish for in that big lake.

From what you see in the bucket the perch bite is still going strong, and if you are into real monster fishing, the depths of Mille Lacs hold some big Northern Pike.

Typically the perch bite and Northern bite will continue to get better as the month goes along, so there is still some time to get out and enjoy the season, no matter where you like to fish.
