Winter Gear Sale This Saturday Will Benefit Central Minnesotans In Need

Games of Thrones fans will recognize the phrase “Winter Is Coming” from the hit show, but Minnesotans also recognize it from just living here. The cold weather, blustery wind and snow are all know that is in our future, even though it doesn’t feel like it right now with temps in the 80’s. 

For some folks out there, winter is so dangerous for them because they can’t afford good winter gear. Winter can be hazardous for everyone, but if you’re able to get several pieces of warm clothing, you’re in a much better situation than if you cannot. 

There's an opportunity to get some warm clothing at a great price this Saturday and at the same time make it possible for those in need to get what they need for free.

A Free Place To Turn For Help

For those who need winter clothing, they need to know about Westyn’s Garage. Westyn’s Garage is a non-profit based in St. Cloud with the mission of serving those who don’t have but need.

I wrote about this last year, and the mission that is continuing with Amanda, Westyn and the rest of the volunteer staff who have a heart to serve those in need around them. The goal is for residents to be able to go find the items they need and be able to take them for free.  

I called it St. Cloud’s Free Thrift Store. 

For the first time ever, Westyn’s Garage will hold a Halloween/Winter Gear Fundraising Yard Sale. The event will be held this Saturday from 10:30 until 1:30 at The Sartell Community Center, 850 19th Street South in Sartell.  

You’ll be able to shop for Winter related items for baby’s, kids and adults with all the proceeds benefiting Westyn’s Garage. There will also be baked goods, fall and Halloween decorative themed items, Halloween costumes, painting pumpkins and more. All of the proceeds will go directly to support the mission of Westyn's Garage.
