FUN FOR THE FAMILY

Escape rooms...they are all the rage right now. I've been trying to think of something fun and close by that the boys and I can spend time together doing that THEY would enjoy. They 'sort of' like being outside...for about 10 minutes.

They are very smart, and seem to gravitate towards the digital world; games that involve real thinking power.  Thinking Power!

IS IT POSSIBLE TO PREPARE?

Why not? I've scheduled a visit to Riddler's Escape in St. Cloud for this afternoon. Now; not really knowing what to expect, I've been searching for ideas online that will prepare me for this experience. What kinds of riddles? What kind of puzzles? I don't want any info on how to escape; I just want info on what part of my brain I'm going to need to use.

I've searched online for some assistance and this is what I found:

EXPLORE:

Touch everything...explore everything...move everything...gently that is...lift, push...but lightly. If it doesn't move fairly easily then it's probably not a clue.. No one wants you to break anything in the room...so don't be too forceful.

DIVIDE AND CONQUER

Explore the room separately...and communicate with each other. Everyone needs to know what's been found, located, so don't be shy.  Shout it out.

USE THE TOOLS YOU HAVE

You probably won't be needing your phone or note pads...everything you need to escape is typically in the room. Remember that a clue is not just a clue but also can be a clue to finding ANOTHER clue.  Got it.

NUMBERS

Numbers can be tricky. So if you find some numbers and they unlock something, you probably won't reuse those numbers. If you find multiple numbers it could be repetitive, or paired and multiple items could indicate the number of something that you need.  okay...I'm confused on the numbers...I'll have to rely heavily on Tanner and Mason.

KEEP YOUR EYES ON THE CLOCK

The clock is ticking... so work efficiently together.

FOCUS ON FUN...DON'T STRESS OUT

Remember why you're doing this. It's for fun. Don't feel defeated if you can't escape. Try another room in the future with the skills you've gained.

ARE WE READY?

We'll soon find out.
