Watch: Twin Cities TV Station Visits With Charlie Boike’s Family
TWIN CITIES TELEVISION INTERVIEWS LOCAL FAMILY
Last week, I had the pleasure of interviewing Charlie Boike's parents, Jeff and Erika, about their wonderful son who was lost too soon in a single-car accident. The loss of this young man was devastating for his brothers, parents, and extended family; but Charlie also touched so many lives in the community, that it made everyone stop in their tracks.
Now the focus has become, 'What can we do to remember this remarkable young man, and keep his dreams alive?"
KNOWING CHARLIE
His Mom described Charlie Boike as 'an old soul.' The kind of kid that would come right up to you and shake your hand. He loved sports. He always had a lot of great ideas, and as we've told you in the past, it looks like some of those dreams are coming true, through the kindness of donations from people and businesses in the community.
CHARLIE'S CORNER -DOXIE DASH COMING IN JANUARY
Charlie's Corner is being created in the parking lot space at Omni Training Facility in Waite Park. Erika notified me recently and said there has been another donation towards the facility of $10,000! They are so thankful for all the support in making Charlie's dreams come true, and we are hoping everyone comes out for the fun Doxie Dash that is being planned for the Granite City Lumberjacks Hockey Game on January 18th. If you have a wiener dog that you would like to enter in the dash, please contact Erika at doxiedash2024@gmail.com, or you can pick up a registration form at Pet Supplies Plus.
