Waite Park’s Marcus Parkwood Cinema To Show Christmas Classics In December

Marcus Parkwood Cinema is bringing back some holiday classics for the 2024 Christmas season. The Marcus chain of theaters is rolling out eight holiday favorites at a discounted price beginning December 6th.

From December 6th through12th moviegoers can see Dr. Seuss' The Grinch (2018), Elf, It's A Wonderful Life and Candy Cane Lane.

From December 13th through the 19th, Parkwood will show The Polar Express, National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation, How The Grinch Stole Christmas (2000) and A Christmas Story.

Tickets for each movie start at $6, or you can purchase a three-pack for just $12. In addition, a Family Pack is available that offers four tickets to any one of the movies for $16 total.

Marcus Theaters also recently unveiled its Marcus Movie Club. For $9.99 per month subscribers can get one movie credit, a 20% discount on all food and beverages, additional tickets for a discount price and the removal of online ticketing fees.

Any unused credits can be rolled over to the next month.

Minnesotans are all over the place when it comes to our favorite Christmas movie- we can't choose just one!

NationalToday.com says Minnesota's favorite matches mine, Home Alone. Who can blame them- this movie has it all!  Blowtorches, maiming, kidnapping, robbery! What more could you want?

Wishlisted.com says most of the state prefers National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation. I am actually surprised this one isn't a runaway winner based on how fondly everyone speaks of this movie all the time.

HowtoWatch.com claims Minnesota's Favorite Christmas movie is Elf. I recently read that Jim Carrey was supposed to be Buddy the Elf. I think Will Ferrell was perfect for the role but, what could have been?

Finally, preply.com says the underrated and Oscar-snubbed Jingle all the Way is #1 with Minnesotans. Arnold, a beer-drinking reindeer and St. Paul, Minnesota as the backdrop. Great movie 10/10.

Notably absent on the lists were A Christmas Story, any of the various Grinch movies and of course, Deck the Halls with Danny DeVito. Great movie.
