Two of Minnesota’s ‘Best’ Banks Have Central Minnesota Roots
This weekend Minnesota's Best contest revealed its winner, and in the banking category, two of the top 3 spots went to banks with Central Minnesota roots. Both Stearns Bank and Farmers and Merchants State Bank were voted the gold and bronze winners for Minnesota's Best.
Minnesota's Best is a contest, where the Star Tribune takes nominations for businesses across several categories, and you vote on your favorites. When the voting window closes, the votes are then counted and in August the winners are announced.
This year the winners were:
Stearns Bank was awarded the gold and silver went to the South-Central-based bank First Farmers and Merchants Bank, and the bronze was awarded to Farmers and Merchants State Bank.
Stearns Bank, is described online as "having served Minnesota farmers, businesses and individuals since 1964, aims to be a modern bank with traditional roots." Stearns Bank has 11 locations across Central Minnesota and Florida.
Farmers and Merchants State Bank according to their website "has been locally owned and operated within our community since 1908. As a local bank, we are committed to providing the friendly service and respect you expect from a small-town bank, while offering the modern banking services you need for whatever season of life you’re in." The bank has locations in Pierz, Sauk Rapids, and Eden Valley.
