The last full supermoon of 2020 will fill the Minnesota sky tonight. Seems early for something to be happening for the last time in a year. There will be more super moons, and more full moons -- but  one happening again simultaneously in 2020.

The May supermoon is called the flower moon because so many flowers begin to bloom at this time of the year. Last month's supermoon was the biggest and brightest of 2020.

A supermoon occurs when the moon is in its closest orbit to earth, making it appear larger than normal.

Generally there is one full moon per month, but in 2020 there will be two full moons in October, and the second in the same month is known as a blue moon. That doesn't happen very often, hence the saying, "Once in a blue moon."

The forecast for tonight in Saint Cloud is good for full supermoon watching, as it calls for gradual clearing -- but bundle up; temps will drop Inyo the 20s overnight.
